Medical Assistants perform tasks to help keep medical offices running smoothly. They perform both administrative and clinical duties. Administrative duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, insurance coding and billing. Clinical duties include vital signs, height and weight, patient interview, assisting physicians with examinations, laboratory procedures and diagnostic procedures.

Medical Assistants work in doctor's offices, hospitals and often may advance to other health care occupations through experience or additional training.
