Mandatory Uniform Policy |

Things listed below are in COMPLIANCE
with the mandatory uniform policy. Adhering to this policy
will help make your time at Jessup ES pleasant and enjoyable. The
policy is for boys and girls. |
Things listed below are VIOLATIONS of the uniform policy.

Tops
Tops must be light blue, white, or black long or short-sleeved polo
style with two or three clear, black or appropriate colored buttons at
the neck. |
Tops Tops may not have any
designs, logos, characters, names or numbers of any size.
Sleeveless tops, crop tops, v-necks, halters, undershirts, and tee
shirts are not allowed. (White T-shirts may be worn under the
school uniform top) |

Other Tops
Other tops may include a pull over or cardigan
sweater or a non-hooded, solid color sweatshirt. Tops must be
light blue, white, or black. |
Other Tops Tops may not have

Belts (optional)
A solid, plain black, dark brown, or navy blue
leather or leather-like belt must go through the loops and be buckled
securely around your waist. |
Belts (optional) Belts
may not have anything dangling. They may not contain chain loops,
symbols, large designer insignia, characters, names or numbers of any
size. |

Shoes
Shoes must be safe and enclose the foot.
Shoes may not expose students to safety hazards nor should they impede a
student from moving quickly during an evacuation of the building.
Athletic shoes are permitted. Wheelies are not permitted. |
Shoes Flip-flops or sandals
may not be worn to school. |

Pants (elastic or optional belt)
Navy blue, black, or khaki full-length standard
issue pants are to be worn securely around your waist with a belt. |
Pants (elastic or optional belt)
Pants may not contain large designer insignia,
characters, names or numbers. Pants may not be rolled up or tucked
into shoes or boots. |

Skirts/Shorts/Skorts
Navy blue, black, or khaki; must be longer than
fingertips when standing at attention. (Shorts may be worn between
April1 until Oct. 31) |
Skirts/Shorts/Skorts Mini
and/or tight skirts/shorts/skorts are not allowed. |

Jewelry and Accessories
Necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings are
permitted as accessories. |

Jewelry should not pose safety hazards or be a distraction. |

Violations
No student shall be considered
in violation of the school's mandatory uniform policy if the
parent/guardian secures an exemption for the student from the building
administrator for any one of the following reasons:

Violates religious belief; |
 |
Creates financial hardship;
and |
 |
Conflicts with the wearing of
nationally recognized youth organization uniform (e.g. Boy Scouts,
Girl Scouts) on meeting days, during scout week, etc. |
Violations of the uniform policy
will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Anne
Arundel County Public Schools Code of Student Conduct. |

Uniform Assistance
The Jessup Administration along
with the PTA Executive Board will create a plan to financially assist
families unable to purchase uniforms. They will also design an
exchange program to promote exchanging of outgrown uniforms. |

***Exemption
At this time, every school day
will be considered a uniform day unless designated by an administrator
as Spirit Day. Parents will be given advance notice of any Spirit
Day. |

Cost of the Uniform
Item listed above may be
purchased at a store of the parents' choice.
