Have a Great Summer Break!  

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Severna Park Elementary School to provide a positive and challenging environment in which all students will achieve academic, social, emotional, and physical success.  School staff, students, parents, and community working together will achieve and maintain an atmosphere of respect, support, and high expectations.

 

Principal’s Message

Your student’s last day of school is Friday, June 6, 2008.  A two-hour early dismissal will start on June 3-6.

The Kindergarten Author’s Tea will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 12:00 pm.

The Grade 5 promotion ceremony will be held on Friday, June 6 at 9:30 am.

Severna Park Elementary will be recognized at the Maryland State Green School Celebration on May 29.  Thanks to all the parents and staff who worked on the projects and application to make this accomplishment possible.

This will be your last regular newsletter for this school year.  The next newsletter will be mailed to your home in August.  Please make sure that we have your correct address on file in the office.  If there are changes to your address, please notify the school office so we may update our files.

ATTENTION:  If Your Child Will Not Be Returning to Severna Park Elementary in the Fall

(or not moving on to SPMS)

Please notify the office at 410-222-6577 so we may get transfer papers ready for your student(s) to take with them to the next school for the 2008-09 school year.Please let us know the name, address, and phone number of the new school they will be transferring to.

Volunteer Luncheon May 30, 2008 9:30 a.m.

SPES Volunteers:  Please help us celebrate all that you have done for us during the 2007-2008 school year by coming in for a delicious breakfast on your behalf.  We appreciate all your donated hours and dedication to keeping our school running smoothly.

AACPS Volunteer Recognition Tea

The annual Volunteer Recognition Tea will be held on June 3, 2008 at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie.  Several Severna Park Elementary volunteers will be recognized for their outstanding service.

 

Lost & Found

Please check the Lost & Found for missing clothing, lunchboxes, and other items that have been found throughout the school year.  There are lots of items waiting to be claimed by their owners.  Items not claimed will be donated to a thrift store.

 

Good Grades = Free Bowling

Enjoy a free game of bowling for each “A” grade you receive (limit three free games). 

Simply bring your report card to Annapolis Bowl, Greenway Bowl and Severna Park Lanes after each quarter.

Free bowling when lanes are available and not during Galaxy Bowling.

 

Kudos

A huge thank you goes to Mrs. Conaway’s husband, Mr. Herschel Conaway of Beckno Financial for donating the paper good for our Math/Reading Rodeo Night.

 

School Meal Prices for 2008-2009

The following prices will be in effect for the next school year:

Breakfast (all schools) $1.25

Lunch (secondary) $2.25

Lunch (elementary)$2.00

Milk-1/2 pint (a la carte) $  .50

Reduced Price Breakfast $  .30

Reduced Price Lunch $  .40

A complete list of a la carte prices and adult prices will be available in the school office.

 

Art Supply Request

SPES Community—I am in dire need of  empty paper towel tubes for use at the summer art camp. If you have any to donate, I would appreciate it if you could drop them off in the school office.
