What is PBIS?

PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) is a process for creating safer and more effective schools.  The process focuses on improving a school's ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.

North Glen Elementary PBIS Purpose Statement:

North Glen Elementary is a community of learners. WE are here to learn, build relationships, and become good citizens.

PBIS impact on North Glen Elementary

PBIS is a major advance in school-wide discipline. We use proactive strategies to define, teach, and support student behaviors. Our environment is designed to improve teaching and learning. We believe teaching expectations and rewarding students for following them is a much more positive approach than waiting for misbehavior to occur before responding.
