I love so many books,
but my favorite as a child was Island of the Blue Dolphins.
It is about a girl who learns to survive by herself.

What do you do and why do you do it?
A:
I teach reading because I love
to help people become good readers.

What grade do you teach?
A:
This year at Hilltop I teach children
in grades 1, 3, 4 and 5.

Do you ever want to work with
one grade instead of all kids?
A:
Yes, but I love all grades,
so it would be hard to say pick a grade!

Do you have a cat?
A:
No, but I used to have two cats.
One lived to be 19 years old,
and the other was 22 years old.

Do you have a dog?
A:
Not right now.
Our dog, Jenny, died 2 years ago.

What is your hair color?
A:
My hair is shades of blonde.

When is your birthday?
A:
April 28th is my birthday.

How old are you?
A:
I was born in 1952. Can you do the math?

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
A:
Death by Chocolate is my favorite.

What's your favorite food?
A:

A:
I like to watch the news and Everybody Loves Raymond.

What elementary school did you attend,
and what was your favorite grade and why?
A:
I went to Lima School in Pennsylvania
and Stonleigh Elementary School in Towson, Maryland.
I loved 5th grade,
because I loved my teacher, Mrs. Chenoweth.
Q:
Do you travel a lot?
A:
My husband and I love to travel.
We have been to England, Canada, and Mexico.
We have also traveled to most of the states
in the United States.
We like to camp, hike, and ride down
rivers in our canoe when we travel.
