If you you'll miss her, because Ms. Pfarr is only here at Hilltop part time. Ms. Pfarr spends the rest of her time at North Glen Elementary, where she teaches kindergarten through fifth grade. She has just joined the Hilltop family for the start of the 2004 - 2005 school year. Ms. Pfarr teaches all 5 of Hilltop's kindergarten classes, plus Ms. Whaley's first grade class and Ms. Peck's second grade class.

A: Who says I'm grown up?
I am still growing up -- right here in Maryland.
A: I attended St Pius X Elementary school
all the way from first grade to eighth grade.
Then I went to Archbishop Spalding High School.
Q: Where did you go to college?
A: I went to Towson University.
A: My favorite subject in school
depended on the teachers I had
and what year it was.
A: To my job.
I am not married to anyone.
A: I have about 450 kids that I teach,
but I have none of my own yet.
A: I wouldn't want to be doing anything else with my life.
Q: What inspired you to become a teacher?
A: I had coaches that showed me that
I had a talent for helping other people learn how to do things.
Good teaching inspired me to teach.
A: Yes, I was a gymnastic coach for 8 years.
I have worked as a camp counselor, a fitness instructor,
and as a strength coach, I have also had many other jobs.
When I was ten I had my own paper route.
A: Yes, you have to like kids to teach.
A: To find the answer you need your math skills ready.
I teach 185 students at Hilltop Elementary
and 250 at North Glen.
How many students do I teach in all?
A: That every day I learn something and always get to smile.
A: I was excited, and maybe a little scared.
A: Yes, I have a collie, which is a type of dog.
A: My favorite animal is a Cheetah.
A: Yes, I like to dance and row.
Rowing is part of a sport called "crew."
I rowed in high school and college.
It is a team sport that I still enjoy.
A: My favorite color is blue.
Q: What is your favorite dream car?
A: My favorite dream car is an electric blue Mini-Cooper.
A: No, I don't have a favorite actor or actress.
A: Yes, actually I have two. Gymnastics and crew.
Q: Do you have a favorite food?
A: Yes! I love eating Maryland Blue Crabs.
Q: What is your dream vacation?
A: I have a real month-long dream vacation planned for this summer.
I will visit Great Britain, Switzerland, France, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Prague, and Greece!
