  Creating Your Project

Projects take on many forms.   Your assignment may call for a poster, a book report, an essay, a speech, a map, an imaginary letter, a HyperStudio presentation, or a PowerPoint slide show. You might even be asked to create a model of a plant cell using food -- so you may wind up baking a cake or frosting a cookie!   That's why it's a good idea to pay close attention when your teacher is assigning your project, so you'll know exactly what she expects you to do.

Sometimes the assignment will be very specific about what tools and supplies you may use -- at other times that choice may be up to you.   Science Fair projects usually have to be mounted on special tag board.   Some reports have to be turned in double-spaced.   You may need to use four different kinds of sources for your research paper.   Your teacher will tell you what your project will require.   Make sure you understand your assignment before you begin.   It doesn't hurt to read over your assignment again before you put the finishing touches on your project, either!

Here's a tip
to save you time:

Gather your supplies before you begin.
