At the start of the '98-'99 school year our students began working on a special project: creating our school's website. When the 1999 school year began, the children continued their project, and have been working on it ever since. Our kids got a chance to turn the tables on their teachers, getting to ask the questions for a change. Students have been busy conducting interviews, scanning pictures and writing the computer coding language, HTML, to create the pages you see here.
During the 2005-2006 school year we made some exciting changes to our website. The Benjamin Franklin pages were added to commemorate Ben Franklin's 300th birthday. Hilltop's How to Headquarters was added to help our students create better projects and papers, while citing their sources correctly. In the spring of 2006, the Maryland Pathfinder was added to Hilltop's How to Headquarters, to correlate to our fourth grader's unit on our state of Maryland. Former Hilltop student Cal Ruth has worked tirelessly alongside Ms. Hughes on these new pages, providing technical assistance, artistic advice, and a wonderful sense of humor to the projects. Thanks, Cal!
