- IAAY
: The Johns Hopkins University Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth (IAAY): Children who demonstrate above average abilities may be recommended by teachers to test for identification in the Hopkins IAAY program. Seventh and eighth graders who have been recommended by their teachers or parents may take the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT). Those with scores that meet the criteria will have opportunities to participate in the Hopkins program. For more details, click here. Fifth and sixth graders who demonstrate above average abilities may be recommended for the PLUS test (Academic Abilities Assessment.) For more information, click here.
- Maryland Summer Centers:
Special programs have been developed by the Maryland State Department of Education to enhance and expand the local programming for gifted and talented students. These summer programs offer an intensive experience working with resources, settings, and instructional formats not available during the regular school year. These programs are held at Maryland colleges and universities. For more information, click here.
