Kindergarten teachers use the Second Step Social Studies Curriculum. Children
are taught skills in empathy, impulse control, and anger management. Rules and
behaviors needed to become a good citizen in the classroom and the community are
included in the county curriculum as well as Appreciating Myself and Others in
the Community.

In Science, using our senses to observe the world around us is an ongoing theme.
Additional Information
Kindergarten Progress Reports are issued and Parent/Teacher Conferences are held
in November and May. There is also an initial conference in August/September
before school starts.
We go on field trips to the Baltimore Zoo and Camp Woodlands (an Outdoor
Education Center in Anne Arundel County). We schedule the Scales & Tales Program
for an in-school visit.
We welcome any parents interested in volunteering in the classroom. (You must
attend a Volunteer Orientation first.)
