would like to take this opportunity to extend a cheerful
greeting to you. We are very proud of our distinction as a "National
Blue Ribbon School of Excellence." This most prestigious education
award validates our commitment to excellence in leadership, teaching, curriculum,
student achievement, parent involvement & community support.
Our school theme for this year is "R-E-S-P-E-C-T... Benfield Bulldogs Care
About You and Me!"
As the Benfield Principal, I am looking forward to meeting you and eagerly
anticipate many shared successes as we show our "Bulldog Pride" this year.
The staff and I will promote a well-rounded academic program of study in
a positive, nurturing environment where the home-school relationship plays
an integral part in our succcess.
During
the 2006-2007 school year, the School Improvement Plan will guide our educational
efforts. Developed by Benfield's School Improvement Team, this plan
states the goals we will strive to meet during the course of the school
year. These goals focus on improving student performance in the areas
of Reading, Writing/Language Usage, Math, Science and Social Studies. Our
goals support Anne Arundel County's goals for academic achievement, safe and
orderly environment and community collaboration. We will work together to insure that all of our students meet success.
